TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Police's Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) plans to summon those closest to Dito Mahendra to be investigated in cases of illegal weapons possession. The summons for Dito's closest people was carried out as an investigative strategy to find the whereabouts of Dito, who is suspected to be still in hiding.
"We will try to summon the people close to him or make other forced efforts," Bareskrim's Director of General Crimes, Brig. Gen. Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro, said in a written statement, Tuesday, May 2.
According to Djuhandhani, the Bareskrim has been searching for Dito, but he has yet to be found. They also coordinate with Immigration and spoke to several airlines.
To facilitate the hunt, Djuhandhani said that his party would immediately include Dito on the Wanted List or DPO, officially making him a fugitive of the law.
The Bareskrim summoned Dito to be examined in a case of illegal firearms possession on Tuesday, 2 May. But he never showed up. This is not the first time he bailed the summons without providing any explanation.
Since the case of illegal firearms surfaced, Dito has been missing. Not only Bareskrim, Dito has also repeatedly failed to obey the summons of the Corruption Eradication Commission.
