TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) is still recording numerous aftershocks in Southwest Sumba. These after-tremors come after a 5.5-magnitude earthquake that rocked the regime last week, 5 August.

"As of Thursday morning, we recorded 380 aftershocks," Rahmat Triyono. The BMKG's Head of the Earthquake and Tsunami Center, wrote in a statement, Tuesday.

Of the hundreds of aftershocks, seven were quite significant.

The BMKG's records showed that the most aftershocks happened on Sunday, which was 136 times. On Saturday, there were 82.

On the afternoon of Wednesday last week, an earthquake with 5.5-magnitude hit Southwest Sumba. Earthquake shocks were felt by people in Tambolaka, Waingapu, Waikakubak, Waitabula, even those in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara.
