TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government provides three towers of Wisma Atlet in Pademangan as a quarantine facility for Indonesian coming from abroad. Quarantine must be held as an effort to prevent Covid-19 infection.

Commander of the Jaya Military Command Maj. Gen. Eko Margiyono said that the three towers will be different from the previous seven towers provided in the Deli Serdang Block in Kemayoran, which was converted as an emergency hospital.

"The range from the towers in block 1 Kemayoran and block 2 Pademangan more or less five kilometers," Eko stated in a written statement on Sunday, May 24, 2020.

Eko explained that Indonesians that had just arrived using land, sea, or air transportation are obliged to be put under quarantine. They will first be submitted to a rapid test using the Polymerase Chain Reaction method at the Port Health Office.

Those who tested negative after two tests will be allowed to continue to their hometown. However, if tested positive, they will be put under quarantine.

Eko added that if the quarantine facility in Pademangan is inadequate, the Indonesians will be quarantined in the Hajj Dormitory in Bekasi and Pondok Gede.

Based on reports, the number of Indonesian under quarantine in Wisma Atlet in Pademangan as of May 23, 2020, reached 3,705 people.

"From the total number, 671 people have been tested positive based on the PCR test. Currently they are being treated at the Wisma Atlet hospital," Eko said.

As for the number of patients being treated in Wisma Atlet Kemayoran reached up to 1,013 people. From the total number, as many as 700 people have been tested positive through swab tests.
