Jokowi Calls for U-17 World Cup 2023 Support from Govt Officials

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo issued a Presidential Instruction addressed to government officials to support the U-17 World Cup 2023. The instruction was issued on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, in Jakarta.
The instructions were addressed to at least 33 government agencies, ministries, regional government, the military, and police. Among them are the Foreign Ministry, Coordinating Ministry for Human Resources and Cultural Affairs, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Ministry if Transportation, Ministry of Tourismand Creative Economy, Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Regional government leaders were also mentioned in the instruction, such as the Governor of Jakarta, Governor of West Java, Governor of Central Java, Governor of East Java, Mayor of Bandung, Mayor of Surabaya, Mayor of Surakarta, Regent of Bandung, and Regent of Karanganyar.
Jokowi instructed these parties to take coordinated and integrated measures in relation to their function to support FIFA's U-17 World Cup 2023 set to be held in Indonesia.
The president also gave specific instruction to the parties mentioned in the Presidential Instruction No. 4 of 2023, one of which was addressed to the Coordinating Ministry for Human Resources and Cultural Affairs to coordinate the planning, preparation, and support for the world cup.
The ministry was also instructed to report the achievement regarding the preparation of U-17 World Cup support gradually, at least twice a month.
