IKN to Conduct First Project Groundbreaking in 2024

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - IKN Authority will hold the fourth phase of the project groundbreaking tomorrow, Jan. 17 in the Nusantara capital city or IKN, East Kalimantan. The first groundbreaking of the year will be attended by President Joko Widodo or Jokowi.
The groundbreaking will be intended for three project categories; state-owned enterprises or SOEs, private entities, and governmental agencies. Two SOEs are included in the projects, including Indonesia's postal company PT Pos Indonesia and Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI), a state-owned radio station.
"Pos Indonesia will develop Nusantara Logistic Hub in cooperation with PT Bina Karya as IKN Authority's business entity," said the deputy of funding and investment of IKN Authority Agung Wicaksono in a press conference held virtually on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, RRI will build a studio for radio broadcasting in IKN, located in the residential area of IKN construction workers.
The second category, still related to logistics, is private entities. SUN Hub will develop warehouses in IKN, with the groundbreaking for Nusantara Warehouse Park tomorrow, invested by a local East Kalimantan-based company PT Wulandari Bangun Laksana.
"Since logistics needs warehousing, and the transfer for the civil state apparatus in 2024 also needs logistics," Agung said.
A five-star hotel by Jambuluwuk Group in cooperation with the IKN Authority business entity will also start developing tomorrow, along with a pilot project for reforestation, the Green Pesantren. The project will be developed by Katadata Green, Jejakin, and BenihBaik.
The third and last category is governmental agencies, including the State Budget-funded IKN Authority Office. Meanwhile, the State Mosque and a memorial park called Beranda Nusantara will be financed fully by the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry or PUPR.
Next, the groundbreaking will also involve the development of several governmental agencies funded entirely outside of the State Budget. Those include the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation.
