TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Low-cost airline Indonesia AirAsia offers ticket promos for Asian and Australian flight routes, with ticket prices starting at Rp389,000.
"The best price for flying the Asia and Australia routes is May 20, 2024, to March 31, 2025, with a booking period starting from May 13-19, 2024," said President Director of Indonesia AirAsia Veranita Yosephine in a written statement on Monday.
The ticket promos offered include direct flights from Singapore-Kuala Lumpur-Phnom Penh-Perth and other destinations with prices starting at Rp389,000. The airline also offers flights from Hong Kong-Tokyo-Sydney-Almaty and other destinations via Kuala Lumpur with ticket prices starting from Rp1.8 million.
In addition to ticket promos, this low-cost airline also provides a 50 percent discount for 30 kilograms of checked luggage for domestic flights and a 40 percent discount for 40 kilograms of checked luggage for all international flights.
"Not only providing affordable ticket prices, but Indonesia Air Asia also offers luggage discounts for domestic and international routes as our contribution to helping improve the Indonesian economy," said Veranita.
Veranita said that this promo was given as an effort by Indonesia Air Asia to encourage accelerated growth in the tourism sector. Not only bringing in foreign tourists, he said, Indonesia Air Asia also hopes that Indonesia's economy will grow through the potential of MSMEs for local products and typical culinary delights as well as the rejuvenation of several tourist attractions.
"Through the efforts initiated by the government, we hope to help realize the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy's target of 14.3 million foreign tourist visits by 2024," said Veranita.
In March 2024, said Veranita, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy recorded the number of foreign tourist visits at 1.04 million, a 19.86 percent increase compared to the same month in 2023. The number of foreign visits is dominated by Malaysia at 15.38 percent, followed by Australia at 11.92 percent, and Singapore at 11.52 percent.
According to Veranita, the increasing number of foreign tourists in 2024, will encourage Indonesia Air Asia to continue providing better services for its prospective passengers. Indonesia AirAsia serves flights from Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, and Bali with direct flights to Perth, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Bangkok, Johor Bahru, and Phnom Penh, and flights with transit from Kuala Lumpur to Sydney, Hong Kong, Tokyo, to the newest route Almaty.
