TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto is targeting 41 National Strategic Projects (PSN) to be completed this year. The projects would cost a total of Rp554 trillion.

"The goal is to finish them all," Airlangga said during a national working meeting for the acceleration and pre-evaluation of PSN in Jakarta on Tuesday, May 14.

Cumulatively, 198 projects have been completed since 2016. The overall budget realization amounted to Rp1,614 trillion, involving a workforce of 2.71 million people. There are still 44 projects and 3 programs under construction.

The government is also targeting the development of 16 critical mineral projects with an investment value of Rp248 trillion, divided into the downstream processing of nickel, copper, bauxite, alumina, and iron sand into pig iron.

National strategic projects that will be carried over by the next government are those that do not require a state budget, such as the PIK and BSD areas. This means that these projects will receive support in terms of land management incentives and ease of obtaining permits.

Of the 41 PSN targets for this year, Airlangga says there are several strategic issues still to be resolved, namely licensing and land acquisition.

During his recent meeting with Joko Widodo or Jokowi, Airlangga said that the president had ordered the provision of land through the release of forest areas and the issuance of permits for the National Strategic Project or PSN. Jokowi instructed the minister and heads of relevant institutions to resolve the issue so that the PSN target could be met on time.
