TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Slovak government has provided humanitarian assistance for the victims of earthquake and tsunami in Palu and donggala, Central Sulawesi.

The assistance is in the form of 12 large capacity multi-function tents worth 13,896 euro, Cultural, Social and Information Counsellor of the Indonesian Embassy in Bratislava, Lely Meiliani told Antara on Sunday.

The Embassy official said the assistance was handed over by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the Slovak Republic, Peter Kazim?r who is attending the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund - World Bank in Nusa Dua, Bali, this week.

Kazimir hopes that the assistance provided can help reduce the burden on the Indonesian government in its efforts to deal with disaster victims in Indonesia.

The Indonesian Ambassador to Slovakia, Adiyatwidi Adiwoso stated that before the delegation left for Indonesia, the Slovaks had questioned the humanitarian assistance needed.

"I am very grateful for the Slovak Government`s response to help alleviate Indonesia in the face of the disaster. This shows the closeness of bilateral relations between Indonesia and Slovakia and as a sign of the friendship between Indonesia and Slovakia which has been established for 25 years," said Ambassador Adiyatwidi Adiwoso.
