TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A humanitarian and charity concert was held in Jakarta to raise funds for the Lombok earthquake victims. More than 30 musicians take part in the concert held Thursday, 9 August, at the Cilandak Town Square, South Jakarta.
When the concert ended around midnight, Rp2.34 billion worth of charity fund was collected, as announced by the concert's initiator Adib Hidayat via Twitter.
The funds raised were accumulated from various sources, such as the online auction of Transportation Minister Budi Karya's acoustic guitar, which was sold for Rp200mn. That night, the minister also went on stage to perform with Elek Yo Band.
The online fundraising is still ongoing and people can donate their money through the kitabisa website. There is also a fundraising held by Universitas Indonesia's alumni association (ILUNI UI), which was also involved in organizing the Humanitarian Concert for Lombok.
