TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Anindya Kusuma Putri, winner of the Puteri Indonesia 2015 beauty pageant was seen serving jamu (Indonesian traditional herbal drink) to participants of the Asia-Africa Conference at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Tuesday, April 21, 2015. "Other than in JCC, we also serve jamu as the welcoming drink at 19 different hotels used to accommodate ACC delegations in Jakarta and Bandung," said Anindya to Tempo.

Anindya said that the 60th commemoration of the Asia-Africa Conference is the best opportunity to introduce jamu to the world. Anindya added that jamu could improve Indonesia’s economy.

One of the AAC participants from Brazil, Andriano Jose Timossi, said that jamu can be a good alternative in Brazil because currently, the most popular beverage in Brazil, according to Andriano, is soft drink, which could lead to overweight.

In addition, Andriano said that the warm effect of jamu could see Europe as a potential market. Furthermore, the traditional drink has no added chemical substance.
