TNI Chief Leads Assembly of AAC Security Troops

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief of National Armed Forces (TNI), General Moeldoko, on Wednesday led an assembly of the security troops for the Asian-African Conference (AAC) in the yard of the National Monument in Jakarta at 7am, April 15.
Based on Tempo’s observation, thousands of security troops for the summit are spotted lining up in the yard of the National Monument since 6am while singing their own troop song.
Besides Moeldoko, the assembly was also attended by several armed forces high-ranking officials including three chief of staffs and commanding general of Special Forces. Some high-ranking police officials including Vice Chief of Police Comm.Gen. Badrodin Haiti also attended the assembly.
Foreign Vice Minister A.M. Fachir said there are about 70 delegations from various countries have confirmed to attend the 60th Asian-African Conference in April 24. However, Fachri is optimistic that the amount is not yet final and is likely increase.
“There are about 20 head of states. It still in process. We expect the amount to increase later on,” Fachri told reporters in Asia-Africa Museum in Bandung on Tuesday, April 14.
According to Fachri, from 109 countries scheduled to attend the Summit, 55 of them are from Asia and 54 are representatives from Africa. But there’s a huge possibility that not all countries will participate in the Summit due to some countries experiencing in an internal chaos.
