Basarnas Spends Rp570mn for AirAsia Search
Selasa, 20 Januari 2015 18:22 WIB
TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) have spent a budget of Rp570 million during the evacuation of the passengers from AirAsia flight QZ8501 wreck. Chief of Basarnas Marsekal Madya F. Henry Bambang Soelistyo said the Rp570 million budget was spent during the 16 day search.
Bambang denied the assumption that the search effort of passengers and aircraft spending was beyond estimation. “What is feared all this time is not true,” he said in a joint meeting with the Transportation Commission of the House of Parliament on Tuesday, Jan 20.
Basarnas has yet calculated the amount of budget spent up to this day. The spending is not big because the foreign ships helping Basarnas did not ask for fuel. “They brought their own tankers.”
Concerning fuel, Basarnas has spent 2.2 million liters of diesel, 179,000 liters of aviation fuel and 3,000 liters of premium fuel during the search operation. According to Bambang, those figures have been recorded until the 17th search day.
