TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Garuda Indonesia's public relations senior manager Ikhsan Rosan has dismissed rumors that a Garuda plane skidded off the runway of Adisucipto Airport in Yogyakarta while landing. According to him, the plane went off the end of the runway (overrun) for three meters.
“If the aircraft slips, it will go beyond the grass or soil,” said Ikhsan via phone call in Jakarta, Monday, November 26.
Ikhsan explained the fact that the plane with register number PK-GFY stopped in the runway area, and the overrun was not due to the rain.
All passengers in the aircraft were safe. According to state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I, the incident did not affect other flight schedules.

AP I made the reports on the incident on the day it happened. Garuda Indonesia flight GA210 landed at the airport at around 14:00 local time on Sunday, November 25, from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, Banten.
Ikhsan explained the pilot requested the Garuda Indonesia aircraft be checked in the apron, and that no damage was found. The technicians then allowed the plane to resume operation and it left Adisucipto Airport on the same day.
