TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Narcotics Agency (BNN) successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle 10 kilograms of crystal meth from Malaysia in West Kalimantan, Sunday, August 19. Three perpetrators were arrested in Kubu Raya District.
“Three narcotic offenders are nabbed, namely Budi, Yusup, and Gunawan,” said BNN’s Head for Drug Eradication Affairs Insp. Gen. Arman Depari via a short message in Jakarta, August 20.
The illegal drugs were smuggled from Kuching, Malaysia through an illegal way in the border considering it was lack of supervision. In addition to 10 kilograms of crystal meth, officers seized three handphones, two motorcycles, and convicts’ IDs.
Arman explained the arrest was based on the community’s reports and intelligent team’s analysis. During the bust conducted by BNN on Sunday at around 11 am, Gunawan ran away but then he was arrested in the house near Beliung River, West Pontianak.
