Traffic Simulation of 19 Toll Gates to be Implemented Tomorrow

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The traffic simulation at 19 Jakarta toll gates will be implemented tomorrow, August 1. The National Traffic Police Chief Brig Gen. Royke Lumowa stated today that the simulation will be started tomorrow from 6 am until 9 pm local time.
Royke explained about the two teams that will carry out the simulation. One team starts from the athlete dorm in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, to Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Senayan, from 6 am to 5 pm and another team will take the reverse direction starting from 12 pm until 9 pm.

Ten toll gates will be affected during the simulation. They are West Ancol toll gate, Jembatan Tiga 1, Angke 2, Tanjung Duren, Off-Ramp Harapan Kita Hospital. The other toll gates, namely Slipi 2, Podomoro, Rawamanagun, Pedati and Indonesia National Park (TMII) also will be affected during the simulation.
According to Royke, the police will be stationed at 19 toll gates and guarded the main crossroads that are exposed to the odd-even traffic system. At the same time, the expansion of the odd-even policy will also be applied tomorrow.

The final simulation will be done in order to calculate the traveling time for athletes of Asian Games 2018. The simulation of the traffic management includes the odd-even policy, the closing of toll gates at certain hours, and the situational closing of toll gates.
Head of Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPTJ) Bambang Prihartono said the closure of 19 toll gates is not yet finished and still being evaluated. Together with Jakarta Metro Police's Traffic Management Center, BPTJ will hold the evaluation meeting after the final simulation has been done.
