TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan targets to finish solving land issues in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) project by the end of May. Luhut said the government would prepare relocation and compensation for 2,086 hectares of land with unclear status.
“No citizens are harmed (in the process)," said Luhut when met after a meeting with the Minister of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono on Tuesday afternoon, May 7, 2024.
Regarding the 2,086 hectares of land with unclear status, Luhut said residential buildings and plantations are built on the plots of land. Therefore, the government through the PUPR Ministry will build new housing for those relocated.
"The PUPR Minister (is responsible) for the development (of new housing) so there is no apparent gap with IKN buildings,” he said.
Furthermore, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono explained that the government will establish toll road projects and religious areas on the 2,086 hectares of land currently with unclear status.
The land issue resolution, said Basuki, will use Social Impact Management (PSDK) Plus. "The compensation is a plus, with the plus being relocation. Later, the plantations will also be compensated,” said Basuki Hadimuljono. The minister also explained that the IKN Authority is currently preparing the relocation point.
