TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno said he wants to meet Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok, if the former governor is released from prison. There have been reports that Ahok might get a parole in August.
"If he can be contacted, I want to ask a lot," Sandiaga said here on Wednesday, July 11.
Ahok was convicted for blasphemy and sentenced to two years in prison by the North Jakarta District Court on May 9, 2017. Ahok has served his term for more than one year, meaning he is entitled to a general remission on August 17th.
