TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The leader of Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) Aman Abdurrahman a.k.a. Oman Abdurrahan objected to prosecutors' death penalty indictment that was read out today at the South Jakarta State Court.
Aman said he would appeal in the next trial. He and his lawyer Asludin Hatjani will read out their defense statement in the next hearing.

In their indictment, prosecutors said that Aman, who is also the leader of ISIS Indonesia, is convincingly proven guilty of being involved in a series of terror attacks in Indonesia.
"We ask the judges to sentence the defendant with a death penalty," prosecutor Anita said.

The prosecutors named five attacks that Aman ordered his JAD followers to commit from January to June 2017. The attacks are the Kampung Melayu and Thamrin bombing; The church bombing in Samarinda; the attack on North Sumatera Police Station; and the attack against police officers in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara.
Akhmad Jaini asked for the next hearing to be held on Friday, May 25. He asked the prosecutors and lawyers to come to court early, in hopes to be able to start the trial at 08:30.
