PSI placed an advertisement in printed media Jawapos on April 23, which was suspected of violating campaign rules as its advertisement displayed the party's logo and election number. The official campaign of 2019 General Election is scheduled to start on September 23, 2018.
Abhan stated PSI advertisement was considered as violated Article 492 of Law No. 7/2018 on General Election with a charge of one-year imprisonment in minimum and a fine up to Rp12 million.
He further said that the findings related to the violation of election rules have been submitted to the police for further examination. “The police, based on the law, have 14 days to process the report after it was filed,” Abhan added.
