TEMPO.CO, New Delhi - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will boost trade with Pakistan in his state visit as stated by Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi in New Delhi on Friday, January 26.
"First, we need to strengthen Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) that Indonesia has had with Pakistan since 2012 and we have mapped it out, but we will boost our trade," she said.

Retno mentioned that the total trade between Indonesia and Pakistan in the period January to October 2017 reached $2.13 billion.
Minister Retno explained Pakistan has a large population reaching 201 million people in 2016 which presents a good opportunity for a trade.

Pakistan’s economic growth reaching 4.7 percent in 2016, Retno continued, indicates a good sign for bilateral agreement in trade.
