Despite the remote locations, these six hidden traveling spots in Yogyakarta will serve you with amazing panoramic views:
1. Kalisuci
Located in Pacarejo village, Gunung Kidul regency, Kalisuci is famous for its cave tubing activity. The green area around the Kalisuci is the right place for those who love to explore the nature. There is also a spring that will not be affected by rainwater while the river beneath it is polluted. Therefore, it is called kalisuci (kali: river, suci: pure, -red).
2. Puncak Soroloyo (Soroloyo summit)
To reach Soroloyo summit, you have to climb 290 stairs. Your effort will be paid with the view from the 1,019 meter above the sea level where you can witness a sunset with the background of four mounts; Mount Merapi, Mt. Merbabu, Mt. Sumbing, and Mt. Sindoro.
3. Pantai Pok Tunggal (Pok Tunggal beach)
Pok Tunggal beach is also located in Gunung Kidul. The virgin beach that is hidden behind the steep cliffs with white sands has only one vegetation; the Duras tree.

4. Gua Jomblang (Jomblang cave)
Located in the middle of karst area in Gunung Kidul the vertical cave creates a beautiful scenery. Its charm is at “the lights of heaven” originated from the sunlight at around 10:00-12:00. You can also explore the cave by wearing safety equipment with the guide.
5. Gumuk Pasir Parangkusumo (Parangkusumo sand dunes)
Parangkusumo is the one and only sand dunes in Indonesia. You can do sports by using a slider here.
6. Pantai Timang (Timang beach)
To reach Timang beach, you have to go through the uneven road contours. The attraction at one of the beaches in Yogyakarta is at a small gondola used to cross the cliff and is operated manually by the guides posted at the two hills. If you dare enough to cross the cliff, you can feel the ocean wave while you ride on the gondola. This location has also been used for a filming of famous South Korean tv program called Running Man.
