Yogyakarta, Solo, Semarang Collaborate, Attract More Tourists

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A number of government-owned enterprises in Yogyakarta and Central Java have agreed to cooperate in an attempt to achieve the 2 million foreign tourist visits target in 2019 set for Yogyakarta, Solo and Semarang.
"Currently, accumulated foreign tourist visit to Yogyakarta, Solo and Semarang reaches up to 750,000 visits each year," said Edy Setijono, PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Bokok CEO on Wednesday, April 20, 2016.
The collaboration effort will involve connecting tourist sites located in one of the three cities with a different tourism site in another. Later in the future, tourists will be able to visit tourism sites such as Borobudur Temple, Prambanan Temple, Ratu Boko Temple, Lawang Sewu, and the Train Museum with just one integrated ticket.
Eight state-owned enterprises involved in the collaboration include PT Taman Wisata, PT Kereta Api, PT Damri, PT Aerowisata, PT Patra Jasa, PT Indonesia Natour, PT Pelindo III and PT Angkasa Pura I.
