TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Gerindra party views that the agenda conducted by the KPK Right of Inquiry Special Committee currently seems to be attacking the anti-graft agency. The special committee is currently surveying corruption convicts at the Sukamiskin Penitentiary in Bandung.
“The agenda conducted by the committee seems to be attacking the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK),” Gerindra party General Secretary Ahmad Muzani said on Thursday, July 6.

The committee of inquiry right consists of seven factions which include Gerindra. Muzani hopes that the right of inquiry against KPK would be used to their advantage and not impair them.
Muzani says that Gerindra will strictly disagree with the special committee if it turns out that they are attempting to weaken the anti-graft agency.
“Gerindra would definitely disagree,” said Muzani.

Other than visiting convicts of corruption cases, the special committee has also requested for KPK’s financial and performance reports throughout 2006-2016 from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). The committee claims that they discovered three indicated misconducts done by the anti-graft institution.
The committee has also scheduled a hearing with a constitutional law expert to take place. They also plan to round up police and KPK in a meeting.
