TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Soekarno-Hatta Airport operations have returned to normal after the reopening of its runway. “The runway was opened at 10:50 pm and flights have been returning to normal,” state-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura II corporate secretary Agus Haryadi told Tempo today.
Soekarno-Hatta Airport runway was closed for over two hours to allow the removal of Malaysia Airlines’ MH 725 aircraft of Kuala Lumpur-Jakarta route which blew its tires. The incident forced the ATC to make do with a single runway.

Take-off and landing processes were carried out in turn on the southern runway from 8:06 to 10:50 pm local time.
As a consequence, flight schedules at Soekarno-Hatta Airport were disrupted. Some were delayed, whereas planes were in a queue to land.

Some planes even landed at Halim Perdanakusuma and Palembang Airport.
MH 275 aircraft blew its tires after landing. The causes of the incident are still unknown and will be find out after the investigation is completed.
As many as 61 passengers have disembarked from the plane and were sheltered at Terminal 2D for international departure.
