TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A number of airlines have submitted their additional flight plans to Soekarno-Hatta Airport ahead of the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
“For the time being, airlines have submitted a total of 1,907 additional domestic flights,” Angkasa Pura communication manager, Dewandono Prasetyo Nugroho, today on May 22.
The additional flights consist of departures and arrivals connecting Jakarta with a number of Indonesian cities. The airlines that submitted additional flights are Lion Air, Garuda Indonesia, Sriwijaya, Batik Air, and Nam Air.
The airlines have also submitted 16 additional international flight plans, consisting of eight departures and arrivals from and to Jakarta.
The number of passengers during this year’s Eid al-Fitr homecoming season is expected to increase by five percent compared to last year. Meanwhile, the returning flow is expected to increase by six percent.
During last year’s homecoming season, the number of passengers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport reached a total of 2.78 million.
