TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Agus Rahardjo said that the KPK might announce new suspects involved in a graft case surrounding the procurement of electronic identity cards or e-KTP. Agus believes that with state losses amounting to Rp2.3 trillion (US$173 million), the graft case may involve more than two suspects.
“The two individuals can’t be the only suspects. There might be a case presentation soon, and there could be new [suspects],” Agus said at his office in Jakarta on Monday, March 13, 2017, without confirming the exact date of the case presentation.

The KPK launched an investigation into the e-KTP project worth Rp5.84 trillion (US$439 million) in 2014, resulting in the suspect naming of two Home Affairs Ministry’s officials, Irman and Sugiharto. During the investigation, the anti-graft commission summoned 294 witnesses with various backgrounds, including state officials, former and current House of Representatives members, and e-KTP project tender winners.
The first trial of the case was held on Thursday, March 9, 2017. The KPK is convinced that they can prove suspects’ involvement in the case.
Agus called on the public to monitor the trial to receive information on the e-KTP case collected by the KPK.
