TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy chairman of Jokowi's Transition Team Andi Widjajanto said two additional advisers would join the team. The names of the two new advisers will be announced today by the team chairwoman Rini Soemarno.
"I have no idea whether they are from political parties. Bu Rini knows it better," Andi said yesterday.
Andi also has no idea whether the two new advisers will add or replace the already existing advisers.
The transition team today was scheduled to have an evaluation meeting in response to working performance for a week. The meeting was expected to be chaired by Jokowi himself.
As of now, four people have been appointed as advisers of the transition team: General (ret) Luhut Panjaitan, Lieutenant General (ret) Hendropriyono, KH Hasyim Muzadi, and Syafii Maarif.
The appointment of those advisers was purely the decision made by Jokowi without recommendation or requests from anyone.
Meanwhile, Hendropriyono’s appointment has been met with rejection from a number of non-governmental institutions overseeing human rights issues.
Hendro is accused to have been involved in the Talangsari tragedy in Lampung and in the case of Munir's murder. They also demand Jokowi’s commitment in solving cases of human rights violations.
