Police Search House of Bandung Bomber, Confiscate Evidence

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Boy Rafli said they have confiscated a number of evidence materials from the rented home of Bandung bomber suspect Yayat Cahdiyat a.k.a. Dani a.k.a. Abu Salam, in Cianjur, West Java. The police raided Yayat's home on Monday, February 27, 2017.
"There are items we suspect to be materials used in making pressure cooker bombs," Boy said in a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday, February 28, 2017.
He said the police found several pressure cooker pots and two rice cookers in the rental. Other confiscated items include cables, solder, scissors and wire spools.
"They seem to be the leftover tools and items of the materials used to make the pressure cooker bombs," Boy said.
The evidence, he added, are enough to confirm allegations against Yayat.
The suspect denoted the bomb in Bandung's Pandawa Park on Monday, February 27, 2017. Luckily no one was injured, but the explosion shocked people who were at the area.
Yayat tried to escape, but civilians chased, cornered and surrounded him at the Arjuna village office. There, the 41-year-old man tried to resist and was shot by the police. He died on the way to the hospital.
