Pelni to Carry Cargo Apart from Passengers During Eid

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned sea transportation company, PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni), will not only carry passengers, but will also containers, heavy equipments, cars, motorcycles and public cargos during the Eid holiday season.

Pelni CEO Sulistyo Wimbo Hardjito said on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, that Pelni will increase its passenger capacity by 5,000 beds with its new single class policy.

Pelni said that it will begin ticket sales for the Eid holiday will begin 45 days before the Eid celebration, in other words, ticket sales will begin on Tuesday, June 2, 2015.

Sulistyo added that to prevent passengers from manipulating ticket price by traveling long distances using short-distance tickets, Pelni has implemented a bracelet marker that will indicate a passenger's destination.
