TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas (SKK Migas) said there will be an additional 34,000-barrels per day (bpd) of oil and gas lifting in 2015. The volume was set in a work program and budgeting (WP&B) meeting. One of the contributors for the additional output is the Bukit Tua Field in Ketapang work area, north of Madura Island.
"According to our calculation there will be an additional 34,000 barrels. This is what we are working on," SKK Migas acting chief Johanes said yesterday. With the additional output, next year's oil and gas lifting could reach the some 870,000 bpd.
Next year, SKK Gas is tasked with boosting oil production to 900,000 bpd. The target itself is considered to far from SKK Migas' realistic calculation of 845,000 barrels. "But this is what we are tasked with; we have to be ready," said Widjonarko.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Susilo Siswoutomo estimates oil lifting will drop to 600,000 bpd in 2020 due to minimum exploration and discovery of new oil reserves.
