6. Wat Traimit
Wat Traimit looks unassuming from the outside. However, this temple has one of the largest solid gold Buddha statues in the world, making it a popular tourist spot in Bangkok. The statue was discovered in the 1950s, when workers were dismantling what they thought was a plaster Buddha statue. It turned out to be a 13th-century Buddharupa Sikap Maravijaya statue made of pure gold, weighing about 5.5 tons.
7. Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen
If you travel to Bangkok, another must-visit temple is Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen. Inside this temple is the largest Buddha statue in Bangkok. In addition to the 92-meter-high statue, this temple houses an 8-meter-high glass stupa, a museum, Budha images, a mediation hall, and much more.
