Top 10 Countries with Best Cuisines in the World; Japan, Indonesia Included

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Every nation has its own unique and delectable culinary delights. A renowned food-hunting site, Taste Atlas, revealed its meticulously compiled ranking of the best cuisines, dishes, food cities, food products, and ingredients, as well as legendary restaurants and esteemed cookbooks from all over the globe.

Through a thorough analysis encompassing an impressive 395,205 dish ratings and 115,660 food product ratings, Taste Atlas has discerningly judged and proclaimed the top 10 countries with the best cuisines across the globe, as follows:

1. Italy

Leading the list is Italy which is lauded for its culinary prowess with an outstanding score of 4.65 out of 5.0 stars. Its top-rated foods include Pizza Napoletana, Pasta, Parmigiano Reggiano, Mozzarella di Bufala Campana, Burrata, and Tagliatelle.

2. Japan

Following closely in second place is Japan, also with a score of 4.65 stars. Although Italy and Japan share the same average rating, Italy secures the top spot due to its highest-rated dish. However, Japan's Maguro Nigiri Sushi is undeniably one of the most delectable foods in the world.

3. Greece

Greece has claimed the third spot with an impressive 4.64 stars, with its tantalizing Dako or Ntakos as one of its most delicious foods.

4. Portugal

Portugal has secured the fourth spot with a score of 4.61 stars, thanks to the popularity of its mouthwatering Ameijoas a Bulhao Pato.

5. China

China rounded out the top 5 with an impressive 4.59 stars. Hotpot is just one of its highly-rated foods and truly represents the rich and diverse culinary tradition of the country.

6. Indonesia

Indonesia made it to the sixth spot with 4.57 stars. In addition to Pempek, which has gained recognition worldwide, chicken porridge, locally known as Bubur Ayam, is also one of its tastiest foods.

7. Mexico

Mexico claimed the seventh spot with a score of 4.56 stars, thanks to the irresistible flavor of its Crane Asada Tacos.

8. France

The esteemed cuisine of France ranks eighth with a score of 4.55 stars. Its Chateaubriand steak, which is among its many delectable offerings, truly stands out.

9. Spain

Spain, with a score of 4.55 stars, has rightfully secured the ninth spot on this distinguished list. Processed lamb, called Lechazo, has become a popular food among Gen Z people and has undoubtedly contributed to Spain's well-deserved place on this list.

10. Peru

Lastly, with 4.54 points, Peru is a fitting conclusion to this prestigious list of the top 10 countries with the best cuisines globally. Its grilled chicken alias Pollo a la Brasa is just one of the many delicious foods that have earned Peru this accolade.
