TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Dompet Dhuafa recorded online donations for Eid al-Adha this year amounting to Rp35.3 billion, a 13.7 percent increase compared to last year.
Dompet Dhuafa Corporate Communications Manager Taufan Yusuf Nugroho said the number of people who participated in online qurban through Dompet Dhuafa showed positive growth compared to last year. "The trend is still showing positive growth," said Taufan when contacted by Tempo on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
Taufan detailed that 10,358 people participated during this year's Eid al-Adha, an increase of 7.3 percent, while the number of new participants reached 2,797, or 4.6 percent growth. Of those figures, the number of animal sacrifices slaughtered reached 15,464 goats and lambs, an increase of 9.4 percent.
This is not the first time Dompet Dhuafa has opened an online sacrificial service. Taufan explained that the institution has opened the online service since 2011, and the method evolved over the years. "We are an institution that implements an agile adaptive system," he said.
Dompet Dhuafa began developing a donation portal at donasi.dompetdhuafa.org in 2013, which allows Muslims to donate online. In 2018, the institution opened a strategic digital partnership for ziswaf and qurban donations. This partnership is carried out through an integrated application mechanism with e-commerce partners, digital banks, and applications.
Finally, this project was transformed into digital.dompetdhuafa.org in 2021, the current main portal for Dompet Dhuafa. In 2022, they developed an application version of this portal by creating the DD Apps application for Android and iOS.
