TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno recently said that Sukabumi, located in West Java Province, has many world-class natural tourist destinations, including the Unesco Global Geopark Ciletuh Palabuhanratu (UGGCP).
According to Sandiaga, tourists get a complete package while visiting Sukabumi, especially UGGCP, enjoying both the natural views of the region and learning about the formation of Java Island.
5 World-Class Destinations in Sukabumi
1. Global Geopark Ciletuh Palabuhanratu
Citing repository.ipb.ac.id, Ciletuh in Sukabumi was included as a Global Geopark by UNESCO in 2017. One of the leading destinations in this area is the beautiful Palangpang Beach. This beach forms the Ciletuh Bay and the river estuary used to land and market fish. Local fishermen also support tourism activities in this area by renting out their boats.
2. Cimaja Beach
International surfing championships are often held in Ciremaja Beach, including the West Jaza Surfing Championships. Unlike Palabuhan Ratu or CItepus which are located near residential areas, this beach is located about a kilometer away from the main roads.
3. Citarik River Rafting

The difficulty of rafting in the Citarik River is around 3 to 5, making it an ideal flow for comfortable and safe rafting. The starting point for rafting is in Cigelong Village and ends in Cikadu Village or Citangkolo Village.
4. Buni Ayu Cave
Buni Ayu Cave is one of the must-visit tourist destinations in Sukabumi, according to perhutani.co.id. Located in plots 21a and 21b with an area of 11.60 hectares, Buni Ayu Cave is equipped with several facilities, namely a mosque, toilet, multipurpose room, playground, bamboo houses, as well as several other entertainment facilities such as outbound and halfway houses. The cave is located about 28 kilometers away from Sukabumi City. Aside from the cave, the area also houses the mesmerizing Bibijilan Waterfall.
5. Cikaso Waterfall
Citing indonesiakaya.com, Cikaso Waterfall is a natural waterfall located in Cibitung Village, Surade District, Sukabumi, West Java. The name of this waterfall was originally Luhur Waterfall. Having a width of 100 meters and a height of around 30 meters, Cikaso Waterfall consists of three flow points with a clear turquoise pool at the base.
