1. Indonesia Seeks Germany's Support to Complete IEU-CEPA Negotiations
The Indonesian President's Chief of Staff, Moeldoko, has sought support from Germany for the completion of negotiations of the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA).
He conveyed the request during a meeting with the Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, Tobias Lindner, in Jakarta on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.
2. Jokowi to Attend OIC Meeting on Gaza Before Meeting with Joe Biden
Indonesian President Joko Widodo or Jokowi was scheduled to attend the extraordinary Islamic summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday, Nov. 12. This will take place before the meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden at the White House on Nov. 13.
“The President will attend the Extraordinary Summit of OIC to discuss Gaza,” the Presidential Special Staffer, Ari Dwipayana, said in a press statement in Jakarta on Wednesday evening.
3. Jokowi Inaugurates Cirata Floating Solar Power Plant, Largest in Southeast Asia
President Joko Widodo, or Jokowi, inaugurated the Cirata Floating Solar Power Plant (PLTS) in Purwakarta Regency, West Java, today, Nov. 9, 2023. The project is the largest floating solar farm in Southeast Asia and the third largest in the world, with a capacity of 192 Megawatt Peak (MWp).
“We managed to build the largest floating solar power plant in Southeast Asia and the third largest in the world,” the President said in his speech at the inauguration event.
