TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The regional government of Bekasi set the status of drought in Bekasi to alert as stated in the SK Regent No. HK.02.02/KEP.528-BPBD/2023.

"The data shows that the drought hits several sub-districts in the south or north of Bekasi Regency," said the head of the Emergency and Logistic Department of the Bekasi Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Dodi Supriadi in an official statement on Friday, August 25, 2023.

In the south of Bekasi, the drought is experienced in Bojongmangu, Cibarusah, and Serang Baru. Meanwhile, in the north, drought hits Sukawangi, Babelan, and Tarumajaya.

Dodi explained that BPBD coordinated with the sub-districts to map the affected areas. The Bekasi government will carry out attempts to distribute clean water to the affected sub-districts.

"We have scheduled a massive distribution in the drought-affected areas, including the Cibarusah sub-district," said Dodi.

So far, BPBD has distributed 14 water wagons or 75,000 liters of water. BPBD is standing by with 5 water wagons with a 5,000 liters-capacity to distribute to the affected areas.

"We also receive clean water assistance from the Tirta Bhagasari local water supply utility," Dodi added.
