Jasa Marga: 482,000 Vehicles Left Greater Jakarta on Long Holiday

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State toll road operator PT Jasa Marga recorded 482,000 vehicles left Greater Jakarta Area or Jabotabek this weekend from May 31 to June 2 or during the long holidays of Pancasila Day and Vesak Day 2023. The number was accumulated from the number of vehicles passing through four main toll gates; Cikupa toll gate (to Merak), Ciawi (to Puncak), Cikampek Utama (to Trans Java), and Kalihurip Utama toll gate (to Bandung).
"The total traffic volume leaving Jabotabek increased 13.9 percent compared to normal traffic," Jasa Marga Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head, Lisye Octaviana, said in a written statement Saturday, June 3.
Lisye said that 48.5 percent or 234,032 vehicles headed to the East or Trans Java and Bandung. About 105,996 vehicles left Jabotabek to Trans Java via Jakarta-Cikampek toll through the Cikampek Utama toll gate, and 128,036 vehicles left for Bandung through Kalihurip Utama toll gate at Cipularang toll.
"The total traffic volume passing through the toll gate increased 32.3 percent from the normal traffic," said Lisye.
Next, 129,343 vehicles headed to the West or Merak through the Cikupa toll gate at Tangerang- Merak toll road. The number showed a 10.5 percent increase from normal traffic.
Meanwhile, the vehicles leaving Jabotabek to the South via the Ciawi toll gate at Jagorawi toll road were recorded at 118,988. The number increased by 16.5 percent compared to normal traffic.
Lisye called on the toll road users to prepare their vehicles and themselves to be in good and healthy condition before driving. "Make sure the fuel and e-money balance is sufficient, and obey traffic signs and directions from the officials."
