Jokowi Orders VP Ma'ruf Amin to Monitor Pertamina Depot Fire Site

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi ordered Vice President Ma'ruf Amin to visit and monitor the Pertamina depot fire site in Plumpang, North Jakarta. The Friday night incident took dozens of lives of the residents near the location.

"The President will not come to Plumpang today. But he has coordinated with the vice president who will come today," said the deputy of Protocol, Press, and Media at the Presidential Secretariate, Bey Machmudin, when contacted by Tempo on March 4. 

Bey said that Jokowi had also given directions to the National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, SOEs Minister Erick Thohir, and Jakarta Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono regarding today’s visit to the location of the incident. 

"Well, the President asked for prioritizing victims' evacuation and mitigating affected residents," kata Bey.
