Indonesia Bags First SEA Games Gold from Rowing

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia got its first Vietnam SEA Games gold medal from rowing, after Kakan Rusmana and Ardi Isedi won the lightweight men's double sculls (LM2X) number. The race was held today, May 11, at the Hai Phong Canoeing and Rowing Training Center.
Kakan and Ardi finished first at seven minutes and 1.38 seconds. Finishing 4.2 seconds behind them were the Filipino pair. The bronze medal goes to the home team.
Earlier today, Indonesia won silver from the women's quadruple sculls (W4X). The rowing team; consisting of Putri Agni Anugerah, Annisa Meilani Yahya, Maslin Efrilia and Dewi Purwanti, finished second at seven minutes 23.6 seconds, 10 seconds behind the home team.
Today, Indonesia has a chance to bring home more gold from pencak silat where Indonesian athletes will compete in three numbers: arts discipline, women's singles, women's doubles and men's team.
Indonesia sent 499 athletes to participate in 32 sports at this year's SEA Games Vietnam, down by almost half compared to the 2019 games.
