TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports will again host a watch party, locally known as nobar, for the Indonesia versus Iraq match in the third playoff of the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup, which will kick off at 10:30 p.m. Jakarta time.
“The Garuda Muda squad's fight is not over yet, let's accompany the U-23 national team to win a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics,” the ministry wrote via its Instagram @kemenpora as quoted in Jakarta on Thursday, May 2.
The event is free of charge and will be held at the courtyard of the ministry’s building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday, May 2, starting at 8 p.m. Jakarta time.
The ministry invites all elements to pray and support the national football team to achieve the best results in the upcoming match against Iraq.
Previously, thousands of people flocked to the ministry’s courtyard to watch the match against Uzbekistan in the Asian Cup semifinal match. The ministry secretary, Gunawan Suswantoro, said the public's enthusiasm for supporting the national team was extraordinary. He also encouraged the public to keep supporting Indonesia to secure a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Tonight, Indonesia and Iraq will compete for third place in the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup. The match will be held at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium in Doha, Qatar. The winner will automatically qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics, while the loser will have to play a play-off against Guinea, the fourth African Asian Cup winner, for a ticket to the world's greatest sporting event.
