TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta-run bus operator PT Transportasi Jakarta or Transjakarta planned to close its 11 bus stops due to the revitalization project of 46 bus stops, including the iconic ones.
The company’s director of engineering and digital M Indrayana explained the 11 bus stops will temporarily be off-limits for passengers starting Friday, April 15. Among them are located on Line 1 of Blok M-Kota Route and Line 2 of Harmoni-Pulogadung via Juanda Station.
“During the bus stop closure, we will divert [the traffic] to the nearby bus stops. We will also mobilize shuttle buses that will connect the stops,” Indrayana said during a press conference at Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, April 13.
The city-owned firm has reportedly prepared 10 shuttle buses. He also said the revamp project was targeted to be completed within six months.
The 46 bus stops that will be revitalized consist of four iconic bus stops, four integrated bus stops, and regular bus stops. The iconic bus stops include Sarinah bus stop, HI Roundabout bus stop, Tosari bus stop, and Dukuh Atas 1 bus stop.
The integrated bus stops are those connecting Transjakarta with other mass transportation facilities, such as the Commuter Line or KRL station, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta. They are Cikoko-Cawang Station bus stop, Jatinegara 2 bus stop, Kebon Pala bus stop, and Juanda bus stop.
