TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria claimed the city did not make special preparations to welcome a parade event of Mandalika MotoGP racers in Jakarta next Wednesday. President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo will reportedly join the event which is slated to be held before the racers leave for Lombok for the second series of races.
"There is no extraordinary preparation. We see that the city of Jakarta is already very clean, neat, and fabulous every day," said Riza in Jakarta, Friday, March 11.
According to him, the provincial government always tried to beautify the capital area.
The parade, he added, will be an opportunity for the provincial government to showcase development progress in the city. However, Riza claimed he did not know which roads to be used for the parade.
"We can show the progress of Jakarta to the world, especially to the MotoGP riders and the entire crew," he said.
As many as 20 racers will take part in the parade. It was estimated that Marc Marquez, Joan Mir, Francesco Bagnaia, and Andrea Dovizioso will join the event which will start and end at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta. President Jokowi will receive the world-class racers at the Palace before joining the parade with them.
