BMKG Forecasts Storm Across a Large Area in Indonesia

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) on Wednesday, November 10, issued an early warning forecasting heavy rain over a number of Indonesian regions that could likely be followed by storm.
The agency said storm is likely to happen in the Aceh Province, Bengkulu, Jambi, Lampung, Riau, West Sumatra, South Sumatra, Banten Jakarta, West Java, East Java, Bali, Antaranews reported.
Similar weather pattern is also forecasted in all of Kalimantan, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, West Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Gorontalo, and West Papua.
BMKG monitoring found the cyclonic rotation over North Kalimantan, which created a convergence elongated to the waters of West Sumatra, south Indian Ocean, Malaysian peninsula, Karimata Strait, Lampung, West Kalimantan.
Convergence area is also seen elongating from West Nusa Tenggara up to the Northern part of Sulawesi. Rainy clouds will be expected to grow in these convergence areas.
