TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Metro Jaya Police spokesperson, Grand Commissioner Yusri Yunus said that Instagrammer Rachel Vennya along with her partner and manager could face up to a year behind bars if found guilty of violating the Law on Infectious Disease Outbreaks and Health Quarantine.
The three people are currently being questioned by law enforcers at the Metro Jaya headquarters after Vennya allegedly did not complete her health quarantine period in Indonesia after traveling to the United States.
However, the spokesperson was tight-lipped about the details of the case incriminating Rachel Vennya and whether it would lead to criminal charges filed against them.
"We are still questioning witnesses. We will announce it after it is complete," said Yusri on Thursday, October 21,2021.
As of Thursday, Vennya and her entourage who fled before completing health quarantine at the Wisma Atlet Pademangan Emergency Hospital arrived at the Metro Jaya Police headquarters to undergo thorough questioning.
The Kodam Jaya or Jakarta Military Command tasked to guard and manage the emergency hospital held an internal investigation and discovered that two of its members had helped Rachel Vennya flee the facility.
