1,509 Schools in Jakarta to Begin Limited On-site Learning on Monday

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Education Department will add 899 more schools that will join the on-site learning in limited manner starting Monday, September 27. In total, there will be 1,509 schools that will hold the face-to-face learning (PTM).

The additional is stipulated in Jakarta Education decree number 984/2021 on the phase 2 of limited and mixed on-site learning during Covid-19 restriction (PPKM) period. 
It stated that 890 state schools and 90 madrasah (Islamic schools) will start the limited PTM at schools.

“The education institution applies the health protocols set by the regulations based on the law,” wrote the head of Jakarta Education Department, Nahdiana, in the decree. 

She also asked related parties to monitor, evaluate, and assist the institutions under their supervision. They are also asked to report to Nahdiana regarding that matter. 

The educational institutions participated in the second phase of limited on-site learning are asked to make sure that the health measures are implemented in their areas. Nahdiana added that violators will be dismissed to participate in the limited face-to-face learning.

Since August 30, there have been 610 schools that violated the first phase of the limited PTM. Based on the evaluation on September 22, seven schools were found to be temporarily closed, as Covid-19 cases were found in six schools, while another one violated health protocols during the period.
