Tangerang Regency Ensures No COVID-19 Cluster at Schools

TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - The Tangerang Regency Education Agency confirmed that no students were exposed to COVID-19 during the trial run of the face-to-face learning at schools in the past two weeks. “No one [tested positive for the virus],” said the agency head Saifullah when contacted by Tempo on Friday, September 24.
According to Saifullah, the COVID-19 Task Force at the sub-district and village level continued to monitor the reopening of schools and were certain that there was no infection cluster. “Other than schools, sub-district and village task force also reported no cases.”
He added that based on the result of the preliminary evaluation, the face-to-face learning program has been running well and complied with the predetermined health protocols. The number of schools holding on-site studies also increased.
Saifullah mentioned 142 schools across the regency have reopened. “In line with the rising number of students getting COVID-19 vaccines,” he said.
He also said a total of 71.64 percent or 62,432 out of 87,152 students of public and private junior high schools in Tangerang Regency have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
