IDX Sets Daily Transaction Target at Rp13.5tn Next Year

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) is targeting the average daily transaction value in to reach Rp13.5 trillion, higher than this year's target of Rp8.5 trillion.
"Next year's target is Rp13.5 trillion," IDX's Director of Trading and Exchange Member Laksono Widodo said on Tuesday, September 14, as reported by Bisnis.com.
So far this year, the IDX's average daily transaction value stand at Rp13.07 trillion. Laksono said that the strong participation by retail investors is one of the main contributing factors to the exchange's transaction volume.
Meanwhile, IDX director for development affairs Hasan Fawzi said that daily transactions growth is supported by the increasing number of investors and their expanding activities.
"The number and activities of our investors increased significantly. The domestic retail investor segment is also more active in transactions," he told Bisnis.com.
Hasan added that currently 59.1 percent of the total transaction value comes from domestic retail investors. This year so far, the IDX listed 38 new issuers, and dozens are in line to hold IPOs.
