Immigration: Thousands of Foreign Nationals Leave Indonesia during PPKM

TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - The Class 1 Immigration Office of Soekarno-Hatta Airport recorded that 3,367 Chinese nationals had left Indonesia during the public mobility restrictions or PPKM from July 3 to August 12, 2021.
“The number of Chinese nationals leaving Indonesia this July-August is the second highest,” said the Immigration Office Head Romi Yudianto on Thursday, August 12.
The biggest number was contributed by Japan with 4,373 citizens. South Korea made up the third rank with 1,904 citizens, followed by 1,833 United States citizens, and 980 Russians.
The Immigration Office also recorded that 11,349 foreigners entered Indonesia, and 25,932 foreigners had left the archipelago throughout July up to August 12.
Meanwhile, Chinese citizens entering Indonesia on August 1-9, or during the PPKM Level 4, reached 303.
Romi also said that during the PPKM Emergency and PPKM Level 4, the Immigration Office had denied entry to 303 foreign nationals.
“The entry permits for foreigners during PPKM refer to the regulations in the Law and Human Rights Ministerial Law No. 27 of 2021,” said Romi.
