TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - A total of 34 Chinese nationals entered Indonesia through Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Saturday, August 7, amid the public mobility restrictions or PPKM level 4. Head of the airport’s Class 1 Immigration Office, Romi Yudianto, ensured that the foreigners had met the requirements according to applicable regulations.
“They all own Kitas (Limited Stay Permits),” Romi told Tempo on Sunday, August 8.
The Citilink plane carrying 34 Chinese citizens and 3 Indonesian citizens arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport last Saturday evening. According to Romi, after going through the process of immigration documents checks, they were allowed to enter the archipelago.
The foreign entry ban has been imposed since Saturday, July 24, in order to support the government’s Covid-19 restrictions known as Emergency PPKM.
The policy referred to the Law and Human Rights Ministry Regulation No.27/2021 on the restriction of foreign entry to Indonesia during the Emergency PPKM period.
The policy stipulates the restriction of foreign entry with the exceptions for those holding diplomatic and work visas; holding diplomatic residence permits and official residence permits; holding limited stay permits and permanent residence permits; having humanitarian and health-related visits with official recommendations from state institutions; and conveyance crews.
Romi further confirmed that 34 Chinese nationals met the requirements as foreigners who are allowed to enter Indonesia based on the provisions.
