TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The COVID-19 Task Force has operated an independent isolation center at the Nagrak low-cost apartment (rusun) in Cilincing, North Jakarta, starting Monday, June 21.
“We will open [self-isolation facilities] here this afternoon,” said the Commander of the Kemayoran Wisma Atlet COVID-19 Emergency Hospital, Marine Lt. Col. M Arifin.
Arifin said he was directly ordered by the Task Force to help open the self-isolation site for asymptomatic COVID-19 patients in Jakarta.
“As suggested by the Head of the BNPB (National Disaster Mitigation Agency), I was ordered to coordinate [the site],” he said.
Arifin ensured that a number of signs bearing the red zone area had been installed to prevent the public from entering the location. The placement of the signs is aimed at minimizing potential contact among COVID-19 patients in towers 1-5 with non-patients in towers 11-14.
He asserted that the location of towers 1-5 is far from towers 11-14. Joint officers are also mobilized to monitor patients so they cannot cross residential areas.
“We are now working together to contain this (COVID-19 pandemic),” Arifin said about the opening of Rusun Nagrak.
